Nature Rocks is a national program to inspire and empower families to play and explore in nature. Our mission is to make it easy for you to have fun in nature, and connect with others to do the same. We want all families in every city in America to see for themselves how much Nature Rocks. Your kids will be happier, healthier and smarter, and besides, it is generally free and a rockin’ way to create and share fun quality family time.
Nature Rocks was founded by the Children & Nature Network and ecoAmerica, and has been brought to life through partnerships with The Nature Conservancy, REI, The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, American Heart Association, the Flora Family Foundation, and American Camp Association all of whom provide funding and/or in-kind support.

The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.

Whether you’re just getting started, or you’ve been outdoors for years, REI Inc. is the place to start all your family’s outdoor adventures. You’ll find friendly advice, great gear and REI’s 100% satisfaction guarantee.

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is a federal agency, that “works with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.” Our agency shares with “Nature Rocks” the common goals of getting kids outdoors, engaging parents, and building support for healthy ecosystems. The agency invites families to visit and enjoy over 550 National Wildlife Refuges across the country for memorable outdoor adventures.

The American Camp Association ®
(ACA) works to preserve, promote, and enhance the camp experience for
children and adults. ACA-Accredited® camp programs ensure that children
are provided with a diversity of educational and developmentally
challenging learning opportunities. There are over 2,400 ACA-accredited
camps that meet up to 300 health and safety standards.
